Go ask the Shrew

about what’s bothering you

She’ll dive into a hole

to go, ask the Mole

that’s blind but can see

the world’s mystery

He’ll speak to the Shrew

who’ll write it to you

with tracks in the snow

so you see and know

Have a gift for the Shrew

for working with you

  1. Lovely verse and nice photo too. It looks so cute I wanna put it in my pocket! Not sure the shrew would like that though :-p

  2. I think, this one just might sink her teeth into your finger!
There are even some Shrews, that have venom!
“Some species of shrew are venomous. Shrew venom is not conducted into the wound by fangs, but by grooves in the teeth. The venom contains various compounds, and the contents of the venom glands of the American short-tailed shrew are sufficient to kill 200 mice by intravenous injection. One chemical extracted from shrew venom may be potentially useful in the treatment of high blood pressure, while another compound may be useful in the treatment of some neuromuscular diseases and migraines.[7] The saliva of the northern short-tailed shrew (Blarina brevicauda) contains the peptide soricidin, which has been studied for use in treating ovarian cancer.[8] Also, along with the bats and toothed whales, some species of shrews use echolocation.
